About Us

Our amazing FWEA Association Representatives (also known as Building Reps) empower our members with information, communication, training and support in our 39 buildings across Federal Way Public Schools.

Our Association Representatives listen to students and members every day and assist with the smooth implementation of the collectively bargaining agreements and positive school culture.

Our ARs join our Executive Board to meet every month. All FWEA members are always welcome to attend too.
If you are interested in becoming an Association Rep, please call our office at 253-838-8571 to learn about the responsibilities, openings and the election cycle.

Find your building's Association Representatives - Click here!
Do you know who your Executive Board members are? Click here!
All members also have access to our FWEA Advocacy Coaches, who will help clarify any areas of the CBA and walk members through solving any CBA violations.  A list of SEAC (Special Education Advisory Committee) members can be found here.

Remote work and Covid Leave language for ESPs and Certs from LOA:
Remote Work Request: Staff who have developed symptoms preventing them from attending physically at work per DOH guidance and are well enough to work, may request approval from their supervisor to work remotely. Approval of short-term (3 days or less) remote work should be generally approved for staff members. Once approved, the staff member will work remotely to accomplish the essential functions of their job. Said staff will utilize a “Temp Remote” code in Frontline and not be charged wellness during these occurrences.

Staff who Test Positive for COVID-19: Staff who test positive will receive full pay and benefits through a combination of L&I benefits and supplementary administrative/COVID leave.  Staff must file an L&I claim under HELSA and will have their worker’s compensation claim supplemented by the district-provided administrative/COVID leave, retroactive to their first day of leave, until able to return to work per DOH guidance (not to exceed 10 days). Staff who experience extended COVID recovery times beyond ten (10) days may be eligible for additional administrative/COVID leave days on a case by case basis. Administrative/COVID leave will be applied retroactively for staff who have been absent from work due to a COVID infection during the 2021-22 school year.
