Exciting Participation, Knowing our CBA, Horizontal Movement on Salary Scale, and Vote down the ballot!
We've been excited about the turnout at our FWEA events! We had about 60 members this week at our Student Loan Forgiveness Seminar. Everyone I asked reported learning something new to help alleviate loans! We've uploaded information here. We're looking forward to our Educators of Color Network this week.
Knowing our CBA is important, since we already have some great language! As a reminder, if you have a question about things like Supervision, Overload, Special Education or Wellness Days, our Collectively Bargained agreement is available online. You can simply search your topic to find it. This is a great first step before approaching an AR or your Principal. Here's the link.
October 25th is the last chance to submit your paperwork for Horizontal Salary Scale moves. Clock hours need to be completed by August 31, college courses by summer quarter and degrees by Oct 1st. If you have any questions, Kelly Sherry is firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is the most important election of the decade, for so many reasons. As FWEA members, funding our schools is critical. I urge you to look at helpful websites like Support Our Schools and WEA Our Voice for information about pro-public education candidates like Kristine Reeves, Mike Pellichatti and Chris Reykdal for OSPI.
Let's get ready to get out our educator votes, **and vote down the whole ballot**.
Interested in joining other educators to support candidates? FWEA members are sign waving, doorbelling. You can join here!
