I've taught at Meredith
Hill for 12 years now. In fact, Meredith Hill has always been my home. After graduating from CWU, I was placed there for my student
teaching experience. Prior to teaching, I worked as a para educator in the deaf and hard of hearing program at Mt. View Elementary
in Lacey, WA. As a hearing impaired adult, this has always been a passion of mine.
My Presidency
I want to thank all of you, the members of our Association, for the trust you have instilled in me as I take on this very important role as your next President. Individually, we can’t do a whole lot, but collectively, we have a strong voice! As we enter our buildings, don’t loose sight of that. Don’t let apathy control the outcome of our endeavors. Our contract isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on unless we uphold it.
I believe our Association should be member-driven. Therefore, one of my goals is to be out making connections with members as often as possible (finding out what members need from their Association). I'll then be sharing that information with our Executive Board to help shape the direction of our FWEA. I will e-mail staff(s) prior to coming. I'd like to stop in to answer any questions you may have. If you'd like to talk, just motion me to hang out for a bit. If not, I'll just say "hi" and be on my way. I look forward to a great year!
