Filing a grievance isn't a negative thing. It is a way to make sure that we are following our negotiated contract, which was put in place to help make our district (labor and management) work smarter, not harder. The contract isn't worth the paper it's printed on if we don't utilize it.
If you believe that you have a viable grievance, you will need to do the following:
*Try to solve it inhouse first by talking with your Association Rep and/or principal.
*Find the exact page number, article and section of the contract that you believe has been broken.
*Call Tia Hendrix (FWEA office manager 253-838-8571) to start the process; the process will take about 5-10 minutes. The Grievance Team will then review the information to decide what direction to take.
NOTE: The Association can ONLY grieve a contract violation... nothing else. If it's not in the contract, we cannot grieve it.
